This Time Last Year

I have my iPhone set to automatically upload all pictures taken within the last year. When I'm stuck on a long tube ride or up in the middle of the night nursing a certain adorable baby, I like to flip through them. I was looking through the new pictures from my most recent phone update and can't believe how far we've come from this time last year.

2010 was perhaps the most difficult year my family has ever lived through. First, my two remaining grandparents both died within days of each other (my mom's dad and my dad's mom):

Then my dad had a stroke, and our nephew found out he had cancer on his fifteenth birthday and lost all of his beautiful red hair:

And then Jason and I were robbed and a tree fell on our house:

Right around the time all of this was going on however, a wonderful thing happened: I got pregnant.

Not too long after that, our goddaughter was born:

And then our other goddaughter came to visit from Seattle:

And we finally finished our kitchen renovation:

And then this little lady showed up:

By the end of 2010, Alex had finished his chemo and radiation with no sign left of that stupid cancer and my dad's health continued to improve. Our family was finally able to move past our rough year. In a happy turn of events, 2010 ended strong and 2011 is turning out to be a pretty wonderful year! Thank God!
