Healthy Baby!

Charlotte went in for her two month check-up this morning. She was in such a fun, happy mood this morning, it was a shame to have to take her in for her shots! She was a trooper though and calmed right down once I nursed her.

In keeping with tradition, Charlotte peed on the scale and had a blow out poo right before her exam. Perhaps it was her way to say goodbye to her lovely pediatrician as this was her last visit at Kensington Pediatrics. Her four month check-up will be with a new doctor once we arrive in London. In fact that will be one of our first tasks once we arrive!

Here were Charlotte's stats:

23" long
11 lbs 14 oz
15.5 head circumference

She's a chunker! She is in the 75 percentile for both height and weight!

Luckily, she doesn't seem too phased by her traumatic morning; she was smiling and cooing by the time we left the doctor's office. That's our girl!

Charlotte's Big Day!

Charlotte was baptized last week during a private ceremony at St. James Cathedral in Seattle by our dear friend Father Brant:

Charlotte has two godmothers (who took a lot of the pictures on this post!) that we know from our time spent working at the cathedral. We hope Charlotte will be inspired by their well-led lives and dedication to their faith.

The space itself is also very special to our family. Not only did Jason and I meet at St. James, we were also married there in 2004:

The ceremony went pretty smoothly. Charlotte was a bit fussy at first but her clever dad calmed her down with his knuckle:

The silver shell used to baptize Charlotte was given to us by Jason's step-mom, Maribeth, before she passed away. The gown was made (with a little help) by my mom.

We had a small group of family and friends attend Charlotte's baptism. Here is a shot of our family with Fr. Brant.

Post-baptism, we all walked over to a small Greek restaurant owned by a lovely man named George. We see George just about every time we visit Seattle as Father Brant tends to take us to dinner there when we visit. He was a wonderful host.

We had a great time and were happy so many friends and family members were able to attend the baptism.

It was a long (but productive!) day for Little Loveday!

Thanks Auntie Katie!

My long time friend Kate visited us from Seattle last week. She left her own sweet little peanut at home to spend time with our little peanut!

Here is a pic of Kate's daughter Perrin from their visit this summer:

Kate and Charlie got to spend some good time together which allowed me to get some good work done on learning music for my upcoming concerts. I also got in some good naps!

Another bonus to Kate's visit was the cooking. (Oh man, do we miss the cooking!) She made us everything from mushroom risotto to Boston cream pie. After nearly ten days of having our own personal chef, it is kind of hard to go back to real life. Hence the pizza delivery on the night she left . . .

When Kate and I were kids we would often get dressed up and take a couple rolls of film as if we were models. In that spirit, we had a little photo shoot with Kate and Perrin before she left:

Smiles!

I tend to sing silly songs to Charlotte throughout the day. This one got so many smiles I pulled out my iPhone to catch a few of them.

Disclaimer: This was taken a few weeks ago. So Charlotte is even bigger and cuter now!

Like it's 2006

It took less than a week to get two great offers on our house -- without the help of an agent, no less -- and we have a closing scheduled for a few days before we leave for London. Who says the real estate market is tough?

We love this house (if you've not visited, or if you saw it in its unrenovated state, see inside at www.10722.info), and so selling is bittersweet. We are looking forward to our new (smaller!) place in London and making it a home full of good memories.

I'm off to find that place during the first week of March. Wish me luck!
