Charlotte's Big Day!
Charlotte was baptized last week during a private ceremony at St. James Cathedral in Seattle by our dear friend Father Brant:
Charlotte has two godmothers (who took a lot of the pictures on this post!) that we know from our time spent working at the cathedral. We hope Charlotte will be inspired by their well-led lives and dedication to their faith.
The space itself is also very special to our family. Not only did Jason and I meet at St. James, we were also married there in 2004:
The ceremony went pretty smoothly. Charlotte was a bit fussy at first but her clever dad calmed her down with his knuckle:
The silver shell used to baptize Charlotte was given to us by Jason's step-mom, Maribeth, before she passed away. The gown was made (with a little help) by my mom.
We had a small group of family and friends attend Charlotte's baptism. Here is a shot of our family with Fr. Brant.
Post-baptism, we all walked over to a small Greek restaurant owned by a lovely man named George. We see George just about every time we visit Seattle as Father Brant tends to take us to dinner there when we visit. He was a wonderful host.
We had a great time and were happy so many friends and family members were able to attend the baptism.
It was a long (but productive!) day for Little Loveday!
