Our Baby is Two!

Our Charlotte Loveday is two!

On the day after Christmas, Our Little Loveday turned two.  Jason and I can hardly believe that two years passed so quickly.  She's such a big girl now!  She's using the potty, surprising us with all the words she knows and she's a rockstar at the memory card game on the iPad.  ;)  She's funny, clever and full of surprises.  She's an absolute joy to have in our lives!

Okay, enough gushiness.  I'll get to the good stuff.  Here are a few pictures of the dollhouse we got her for her birthday:

I got the house itself at the Crystal Palace Christmas Fair (that I was singing at!) and the furniture came from my mom.  She bought a bunch of vintage furniture which I painted to help update it.  (Inspiration from here.)  Charlie absolutely adores it!

Her two favourite things to do with the set is to put the baby on the toilet:

. . . and to put any of the other dolls in the shower:

I'd like to give the house some better decor.  Mainly, I'd like to add some wall paper and perhaps some new items such as potted plants and rugs, but for now, Charlie likes it just the way it is and that's all that matters! . . . for now . . .

After the dollhouse and other birthday gifts, we made some birthday pancakes.  Charlotte loves to help cook:

We won't have a cake until her birthday party next weekend, so the pancakes got sprinkles and candles:

We spent the afternoon at the playground and giving her new Balance Bike a test drive:

It was a bit cold and muddy, but we had a great time:

She got more birthday candles when we went out to Pizza at the Palace for dinner:

The staff at Pizza at the Palace are SO great with kids!  In fact, once they found out that it was her birthday, she got a second ice cream with a candle (the first ice cream and babyccino came with her meal) AND a lollipop!  Lucky girl!

She had a fantastic time and was excited to put on matching pyjamas with her doll, Annabelle, for bedtime (thanks Aunt Annie and Uncle Randy!):

Then, before bed, there was more dollhouse playing while singing "Away in a Manger."

"The little Lord Jesus asleep on the PILLOW!"

Happy birthday to our sweet little girl.  We couldn't love you more!

Christmas Day 2012

We spent Christmas 2011 with family in Mount Vernon, WA at my sister's house.  It was so wonderful to be surrounded by family for Charlie's first Christmas.  We spent Christmas 2012 as a family of three at home in London.  We all missed our family in the states, but we had a great time being in our own home.

Charlotte was SO excited to wake up and open presents and find gifts in her stocking!  Her excitement made things that much more fun for Jason and me.  It was a truly magical Christmas.

Charlotte's big gift was a Balance Bike.  It is basically a small wooden bike with no pedals.  The idea is that she'll use her feet to push herself forward.  As she learns to balance, she'll be able to go faster and faster and by the time she's big enough for a pedal bike, she'll already know how to balance on it!

She still has a bit to learn . . .

That's better:

She got lots of other great gifts but a sure favourite (The most favourite being the wooden play fruit.  Thanks, Elliot!) was a set of Dr. Seuss books that Jason found for her.  Luckily, they're lots of fun to read, because they're getting lots of use!

Here is a partial shot of the aftermath:

After naptime, we headed out to see Emily Bemily and Rob and Mimi (and the twin boys in Mimi's belly!).  I forgot to bring the camera, but Rob sent us some photos of the evening's activities.  There was loads of playing:

Delicious food (including a Christmas pudding that Jason made!):

And one big, beautiful Crock Pot.  Thanks, Mary!!

Hope yours was as great as ours!

Happy Christmas!

Christmas Eve 2012

While I was still on my way home from Miami, Jason and Charlie prepared the house for Christmas Eve festivities.  By the time I got home, there were Christmas crackers on the table and a duck feast in the oven!

After our food settled a bit, we went up to our neighbours for some more food and drinks.  Jane is a chef, so there was an incredible spread!

We had a fantastic time eating and drinking and enjoying each other's company.  A great time was had by all!

Though nothing about our great evening could top this moment of seeing my husby and sweet baby girl after nearly three weeks of being away:

Ammee and Dadada

My parents (or Ammee and Dadada as they're known to their grandkids) came for a visit over Thanksgiving and my birthday.  We had such a fantastic time and Charlie LOVED having them stay at her house!  We saw some sites, ate at a few pubs and Charlie got to take another ride on the London Eye with my folks.  We all agreed that their visit absolutely flew by and we were all sad to see them leave!

Some of these photos showed up on our Instagram feed and a few are from the camera (which we kept forgetting to bring along!) but they all give you an idea of what we were up to:

There was lots of relaxing and book reading to be had:

We also got into town quite a bit:

occasionally we found ourselves out and about during nap time

I guess this is a bit of a random photo dump, but I treasure each of these pictures!  Thanks for coming all the way to London to see us!  We miss you!
